If you want a Starbuck’s Quality cup of coffee then it is going to cost more than a quarter. The same goes with hiring of employees. Do we expect a great one if you are only willing to pay minimum wage. Look at shoes as an example. You can get a great pair with all these great features for less than $100 but if you are going to buy the $10 pair at your local Wal-Mart then thatch all you are going to get.

Look at the nations top jobs and I bet that each one of them treats their employees better than the local Waffle House. If you want employees that are team players then you have to pay them as if they are part of a team. My best employees were those that I hired from out of state, gave them a good salary plus an apartment until they were properly trained by me. I tried hiring just local talent but at lunchtime they went to the local bar. I had this one that we nicknamed skippy and he called me one time saying he had taken a nap at his grandmas house and had overslept. I could hear beer calls in the background.

Google, Yahoo, Skype, digg, reddit… what do they have in common? Memorable names. Resonant. Brandable. And domains that reflect the brand. It’s that simple. A short look at the Web 2.0 scenery shows us the keyword domains are out. Today there are less my-keyword-domain.com in the search engine results than a few months ago, because the search algorithms have changed and the search engines no longer place so much weight on the keywords of a domain name than in the past. There are other factors that influence search engine rankings, but this is a matter I will discuss in a future article.

Right now let’s focus on the importance of getting domains that reflect your brand. Writers and artists who work alone use their own names as domain names. We know the brand David Airey, the brand David Carson, the brand Yaro Starak (who owns a domain with his name but uses redirect to entrepreneurs-journey.com), the brand Liz Strauss and so many others.

Google them. You’ll find that they are all focused on personal branding and they bought domains that are the exact mirrors of their brands.

Companies don’t always use people’s names. They create a brand after careful market research and then they start promoting that brand.

If they’d use keywords based domains instead of the name of their brands, this will confuse the target audience.

Imagine a Skype commercial that sounds like: “call free online with Skype. Visit www.free-online-calls.com to learn how.” This would hurt Skype’s branding. It would make it look unprofessional, unreliable, focused on the search engines rather than on the consumers, and the list could go on.

It is probably good to know that any business, no matter how small, needs good planning to be successful. Maybe not a business-plan in the technical meaning of the term, but a draft of clear goals and strategies.

Why would an intelligent, hard-working, executive need a Coach? Unless you are in business for yourself, isn’t that what your superiors are for? It would seem logical to assume that everyone in the corporate world has someone to report to, hence replacing the need for a Coach. What many find, though, is that the bigger the company, the bigger the challenges and the less time he/she may have for you.

So how do you know if you could benefit from having a Coach? You work hard and you are successful, yet deep inside you feel you could be challenging yourself even more. Unsure of how to get to the next level, you continue setting goals, but find that most days ultimately end the same as the day before. With a Business/Executive Coach, you would have the opportunity to bridge the gap between expectation and performance, so you don’t find yourself constantly creating new goals, yet ending with the same results.

What you know and what you have done to be successful thus far, only goes as far as your own horizons, but with a Coach you can:
? Learn to work harder, but with less stress.
? Redefine what’s really important.
? Create the passion to overcome challenges.
? Refine and build upon your existing skills and talents.
